Client: Uniting Church

Scenario: Strategic Assessment, Development Management and Land & Environment Court Appeal

Situation

The Uniting Church sought to determine the Highest & Best Use of their Rose Bay site, which was no longer used as a place of worship.

It was acknowledged that while the site was not listed on state or local heritage registers, it would require sympathetic treatment to the social & community heritage values.

Task

  • Seek heritage advice to influence design

  • Develop design scheme & engage consultants to document development application

  • Meet with Council and Community groups

  • Conduct a Land & Environment Court challenge to have our DA approved

Action

Developed and lodged a DA choosing a consultant team taking into account the potential heritage aspects. DA was challenged by heritage concerns which resulted in our team having to take our DA to the Land & Environment Ct for assessment.

Result

Endeavour had the DA approved by the Land & Environment for our Client .
